How Did The Mayans Know About Bugarach? – In the foothills of the French Pyrenees sits the tiny town of Bugarach. The latest buzz in the global social media is that Bugarach is the only place on earth exempt from the Mayan end of world on December 21st. People are flocking to arrange transport there. You can't make this stuff up. (Hat Tip – Grant Williams.)
Man, its a strange but happy coincidence that many of FCX's board members are also on the board of McMoRan Exploration Co. Good for them. How lucky someone should buy them out.
Was reading How back in the 1950s, metal stocks were some of the biggest dividend payors. I think we are on our way back to this now. Only way you will attract investors attention especially with all the troubles they have hitting budgets. Seeing it in the energy small caps in Canada where many are starting to move to be coming dividend stocks and think the metals are next.
i have att uverse. For the most part I've been pretty happy with it but when it goes down you have nothing, no phone tv or internet. It's been going down several times a day for a few seconds at a time over the last 3 weeks. SInce I'm home for a couple of days I'm gonna have them come by and check it out. I gave them my cell number so they can contact me if they need to. I told them it should work since its a non uverse cell number. I wonder if they think that's funny?
anyone have any thoughts on FCX? My initial thought is to just cut my losses and go since my main purpose for buying it is gone.
Now I see the connection. Many of these FCX guys graduated from LSU. I have never seen a tighter frat than those guys.

TBT taking a hit, can't go up with TBT going down.
CP - my point on the endowment fund the other day was that if they consider 30% a high allocation to stocks, then there is probably a lot of other money doing the same thing. For the last couple of years I've read/heard several comments that money is sitting on the sidelines and not in the market. So I'm wondering now if maybe the money IS in the market in the form of projects instead of stocks of public companies. I'm wonder if there is a way to measure that?
"if they consider 30% a high allocation to stocks, then there is probably a lot of other money doing the same thing."
Sounds like the money is weighted towards stocks as opposed to projects. Need to know the expectation here, if this money represents recent gains and is about to be withdrawn, or if it represents future expectation.
I know no mechanisms for measuring current or past allocation.
AGO - Okay, so now this thing's gonna close better than $14.02 and establish an upward channel right after I allowed these floozies to steal my shares?
"ZNGA- Does anyone seriously think they will get a license?"
Mark - It doesn't matter. They were trading at cash levels and still cash flow positive as of 2 days ago. It should go higher regardless. While the FB deal could hurt in some regards, it will help profits as well as they won't share 30% of a portion of their revenues.

I bet it's tough finding a hotel in Bugarach.

ReplyDeleteYou're a pretty even-tempered guy, port.
DeleteI really am, I'm gonna start making some voodoo dolls to punish. I'll be needing a lock of hair from each FCX board member.
DeleteToo bad you can't just call someone to provide the locks of hair, none of that sounds illegal.
DeleteSCCO - $25 entry doesn't seem possible anymore.
ReplyDeleteThis miner beats the pants off PM miners and wow, still has a very meaty dividend.

Hard call, if your reason is gone sell, or you can wait a few days and hope for a lift and then bail.

TX - Here's a company that has cash and is looking for investment opportunities.
ReplyDeleteAGO - Okay, so now this thing's gonna close better than $14.02 and establish an upward channel right after I allowed these floozies to steal my shares?
ReplyDeleteKeeps threatening to do so, but nothing different than the many other times so far...
DeleteNLY - Okay, so it seems all I have to do with this one to make money is sell the morning pop and buy the afternoon drop.
ReplyDeleteFCX - "many of FCX's board members are also on the board of McMoRan Exploration Co."
ReplyDeleteTo make matters worse, you could consider the fact these same guys were exercising their decision making prowess with the PXP well purchase.
Why would they be buying PXP though, is this entire charade simply an elaborate scheme to take over BP's water park?
Maybe they will buy NSPH also?
DeleteNSPH will pop just as soon as I sell, like AGO has done.
DeleteDamn, look at the 3 day move VELT has made. Another good call I wimped out on. Crikes...
ReplyDeleteI see T3D just sold all of his F.

ReplyDeleteOn a serious note this has big implications for US NAT GAS.
ReplyDeleteDOE’s Office of Fossil Energy released the final NERA
report on the domestic macroeconomic impact of US LNG exports

I scanned that this AM. Yes, it does, a long way off though.

ReplyDeleteI closed RYPMX end of day. Will likely close flat, especially with FCX taking another hit today. That's OK. Just didn't want to be trading on 'hope.'
ReplyDeleteRYPMX closed up +0.01, to 59.59.

ReplyDeleteNLS - new 52 wk high and it's got a strong uptrend going. I would say wait for a proper Landry buy point though.
