06/12/11 And the grass won't pay no mind

We attended commencement for our oldest today. You know, my own commencement seems like yesterday. I thought about posting 'Circle Game,' but Neil Diamond came to mind instead. It wasn't that long ago we were all 'starting out' with families and careers- before you know it, we're recalling and/or recounting those experiences for/to another generation.

Hey, I appreciate the feedback from all. Kyle's recounting of Cramer's 'epiphany' actually strikes a chord here. I'll have to meditate on my offhand remark about another Roaring Twenties, and see if I can't cite the reasons behind it.

Mark- Best wishes to your father-in-law.

Obviously, we arrived home late in the day. So I won't be checking in until well after market open Monday.

  8. MMR/KOG Ugh...

KOG came out today with the same news as BEXP on Thur. Was hoping for the same reaction in BEXP. Didn't get it of course.

  11. BEXP - That's got to be a buy, no?

  12. I finally did it...bought some CSCO, but I only bought the ITM calls expiring in August. This has gotten so beaten down that I highly doubt it doesn't come back. I bought 40 x August $14 calls at $1.51.

  13. that is, it is so beaten down that there has to be a bounce back at some point here. Even if it's only to $16, that would give me a 40% return.

  22. Just returned from a weekend trip into the Desolation Wilderness with the family, where our children went on their first real hike in the mountains, with running streams on granite planes, snow patches, cliffs all around -- just beautiful...

    "David- ECUXF news?"

No. It is actually a strange day today: silver is down but most of the silver miners are up a lot (check out the "related stocks" below once you enter ECU.TO in google/finance). I think the hedgies are finally coming to their senses, realizing that we won't get another parabolic run in silver soon and so the miners here offer a MUCH better value than the metal itself. So they are selling silver and buying the miners.

  23. CSCO actually outperforming the market

  25. added 500 shares to my CSCO position this morning. Hope $15 support holds. Currently have 2500 shares total. Another stock I added this morning is SKX. The company has been out of favor due to backlog issues can come back strong withing a year..

  26. Congratulations goes to David this morning. He stuck with his ECU conviction, encouraged all of us and is rewarded today.
