12/25/12 Nikkei opens up +1.7% on Christmas Day

I either didn't know, or more likely forgot, that December 25 is business as usual for Japanese traders.

  2. Yes, Merry Christmas everyone!

The Yen was down further today for some reason, so naturally considering the circumstances the Nikkei should rally.

    Japan Unemployment Rate:
"Unemployment Rate in Japan remained unchanged at 4.20 percent in October of 2012 from 4.20 percent in September of 2012. Unemployment Rate in Japan is reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs & Communications. Historically, from 1953 until 2012, Japan Unemployment Rate averaged 2.7 Percent reaching an all time high of 5.6 Percent in July of 2009 and a record low of 1.0 Percent in November of 1968."

  4. AGO - Needs to recover $14.35, else it's coming back to me.

NLY - Today would have been the day to sell if you wanted to before it trades minus dividend.

    1. VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec 24, 2012) - Silvercorp Metals Inc. (SVM.TO)(SVM) ("Silvercorp" or the "Company") today announced that it has changed its auditors from Ernst & Young LLP ("Ernst & Young") to Deloitte & Touche LLP ("Deloitte & Touche"), on November 27, 2012.

So they wait a month to announce it on Christmas Eve.

  9. Japan starting to get some attention:

"Japan's Nikkei stock average could rally nearly 30 percent in 2013 due to an aggressive push to reflate the economy under the country's new premier, the chief executive of Daiwa SecuritiesGroup told Reuters in an interview."

    1. Maybe, I'm looking to add to NLY if they push it below my new basis of $13.90, for a flip.

NSPH - Plan to add there too, if the price is right.

AGO - Looking for re-entry but it's not cooperating..... ;( Should've known the pullback that shook me out was an head fake.

    4. Probably, but may get some fiscal cliff excitement going with Obama flying back early to try and get something done. Who know's how the market will react though.

    5. Good to know he's flying back early, news to me. Seems like the tax selling is abating or stabilizing also.
