05/24/13 Zero Hour, 9 am

I like the muted early market indicators. We rally today. That and less than 2 bucks will buy you a cup of coffee.

  1. Why do I think we rally? There's nothing else to do. All the short-term selling took place Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.

  2. DANG 2/3 @ 6.09 - 1/3 @ 6.40 6.09 is the front running price, 6.40 is the service price.

i would imagine this is a positive for FMD as it would force more students into the private market for funding, therefore increasing the overall size of the private sourced funding market.

  28. If interested, here is Landry telling you how he scans for stocks. He also says if you use telechart he will give you his exact scans.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLpCTJw9NnI

CC, do you use if service? at $179/mo he has to be really good.

No plumbers cracks here, 20/20 takes care of that. Reminds me of a story when in the air force of tow friends picking up two chicks in Waikiki. One in the back seat started making out and put his in up her dress. Turns out his thing was bigger than his, looks can be deceptive, hehe.

    1. I get the service for $1199 for 14 months.

      That's about $85 a month.

If you are interested, call him (or send him an email at Dave@DaveLandry.com and tell him Craig the dog trainer sent you and ask if he will give you the same deal. I bet he will.

20/20 can fool you. I was looking at one of those catalogs my wife gets and I asked her, WTH is that...as I pointed to a photo that looked like cleavage. Then I moved the catalog from under the one on top and it was a woman's legs together. At least it wasn't plumber's ass.

    2. Ok, thanks CC, I'm leaving for the mainland in a few weeks, so when I get back I think I'll check out his scans on teleschart first and keep the above in mind.

      Delete
    3. If you have Telechart (through his site) you get his scans and can do it yourself.

I don't remember what TC costs, but I figured I may as well pay a bit more and let him do the scans as he provides entries, price targets and stops.

At some point I will get TC and do it myself.
I also know the patterns and have found good picks using Bulkowski's sector page and picking patterns from the top 10 sectors. TC is easier because it's more or less a spreadsheet style program and you can scan the filtered charts really fast once you get good at it.

  34. KWK - LOL, nice reaction to a downgrade.

    ReplyDelete
  35. RYPMX off -1.09%. Unfortunately, I had 60% of the port on the pass line, which makes it a -0.65% fender bender.

    ReplyDelete
  36. On the other hand, an exceptionally bright and courteous Fido rep named Joelle who helped me close the RYPMX trades on May 16 noticed I had been inappropriately dinged a $75 ST transaction fee on several one-day trades. She promptly reviewed all Rydex trades for the past several months, called me back, and announced she would be reversing a total of $750 in fees. I really have to commend her.

    1. nice man. i was getting hosed by my old employer. they forced their employees to use their own broker who was charging me upwards of $500 a trade (i.e., just to enter the trade and another $500 to exit) b/c i was buying mostly beaten up $1 to $3 stocks and they would only allow me to buy a max of 5k shares per trade online.

i complained endlessly and even copied the SEC on one of my letters that i wrote to them, detailing how they were stealing from their employees. they finally adjusted my account by about $3 or 4k. they still took about $20k from me over the span of one year. i did the math and had i been allowed to use Schwab/AMTD/etc i would have paid about $500 in fees.

it turns out that shortly thereafter they switched to a $9.95 per trade fee...i kind of think i had something to do with it but who knows. needless to say i probably went from one of their best "clients" to one of their worst.

  37. i had a couple of small breaks throughout the day and offed a good chunk of CECO at $3.04 to $3.08. Only have about 6-7% of the port in it now...had about 60% at one point. i used the proceeds to buy:

    (1) more FMD at $1.17 to $1.19. Avg is now $1.20 - 30% of port is in it.

    (2) more REDF at $2.81 to $2.82. Avg is now $2.85 - 17% of port is in it.

    (3) more WLT at $18.53 to $18.7. Avg is now $18.9 - 45% of the port is in it.

if you couldn't tell i'm bullish on WLT.

  40. evening and happy memorial weekend,

no trades and amazingly no stops triggered today. I think I have my BIIB stop too low though.

I was just checking on the best Houston companies and I came across EXXI. The local paper listed it as the #1 small company in Houston. I have no idea how they figure out which company is #1. Anyhow, it's been beaten up a bit and I have not looked at a single financial. I did look at their most recent presentation and it looks like all of their production is offshore Louisiana. I'm not a big fan of offshore Gulf Of Mexico production cuz they get smacked around by the storms. All of this dribble to make one point, it worked fairly well as a long entry using the falling knife chart, say buy in on May 2 or 3 with a buy around 23.50 and a stop around 21.17 or so. I'm not trading on any of these falling knife charts yet but I'm going to point them out when I see them for a few weeks.
