07/27/12 Facebook Holder

Opened prior to market close @ 27.355. Prints fell off a cliff after hours. I was ready to off my shares at 26 and change. But then the sixth sense placed a hand on my shoulder. 'Buying opportunity, dude.' Look, I spend zero time on FB, and that's unlikely to change anytime soon. But colleagues in their twenties and thirties at work are addicted to it. There's a story here. So I doubled up in the extended hours session and now own a stake at 25.75. Last night I held Aladdin's lamp And so I wished that I could stay Before the thing could answer me Well, someone came and took the lamp away I looked around, a lousy candle's all I found

  1. Look, my sixth sense is no Aladdin's lamp, and I may wake Friday morning to additional selling.

However, the sixth sense is the closest thing I have to Aladdin's lamp.

    1. I'm hearing that FB is likely to experience difficulty attempting to squeeze profits from their smartphone advertising strategy.

Just passing along what I"m hearing, the source could be biased for all I know.

  4. TOF -- should we be buying CSTR on this drop? Do you still think its future is bright?

    1. There's a gap up from $52.95 on Feb 7th, I guess it gets closed at tomorrow's open.

  5. 2nd - I really do like the FB story. I think it ultimately has staying power simply because my wife is addicted and she's usually on top of trends. I'm rooting for you holding for more than a day or two because it's one of a handful of ideas I think work for longer term.

Now if they can just sell off Z to the tune of 50%.

  7. Regarding FB and ZNGA et al, if/when the US legalizes on-line gambling is when these stocks will take off. I think that gambling will be the primary way FB monetizes mobile.
