9/12/10 Ten Men Working

Mark- I'm sure Kendra did well today. It was season open for us this morning, followed by the first game at 12N. The little guy was worried he wouldn't do well- his team ended up winning 6-1. He scored the first 4 goals. Sometimes being a parent is easy.

Afterwards, it was yard work day. I must have put in 4 hours trimming the grass, cleaning the gutters, cleaning the pool filter, and weeding. Bring on the rainy season.

  1. Way to go little 2nd!!!!! Just got back. What a timely post...

"Sometimes being a parent is easy"...

Man was today one of those for me too.

Kendra had a State Cup qualifying game this morning. They won 8-1 and Kendra scored 5 goals and had an assist.

The best part? At the end of the game Kendra had a clean break about 30 yards away from the net. The goalie came out to challenge her and see looked up and pasted it across the net to a wide open player for an easy goal.

Afterward, I asked her what her best play was. She said..."Oh, my pass to Olivia when she scored. She works so hard on defense all the time I really wanted her to get a goal"

    Man, just breaks my heart....

Next Sunday we will be down your way. Morning game in Saratoga and a late afternoon game in Redwood city. In between, we will go and watch University of Santa Clara women's soccer v. Georgetown.

Tell little 2nd here has a big group of fans here pulling for him!!

  3. Man, Kendra is something else- 5 goals at a State Cup qualifying game? That girl has a scholarship in her future. The University of Santa Clara is a pretty good school- you never know.

  4. 2nd- LOL...That would be the ONLY way she could go to a school like Santa Clara!!

I'd love to see some pics of the little guy today. E-mail them to me if you took any.

  8. another one to look at from Dutch over at SOH - BTIM. he likes it as a growth prospect but I think it's more likely to be a take over target. like with my enterprise/cloud s/w players I am going to put a basket of pharma stocks together. dev pipes are drying up some and a number of major drugs are coming off patent in the next year+, I know this isn't a new idea but what the hell.

congrats on the soccer success guys!

  9. Kyle- I was looking into Gann's theory a long time ago. When I saw the part about astrology, I bailed :).

I've been reading some articles about the DB offer. If I have the right take, I'd like to get in after the offer and a subsequent re-test. After a party for Hailey I'll see if I can flush this out a little. BC's revelation might be an opportunity.

  10. I know you guys will find this hard to believe, but JB said something interesting in a phone call we had last week. Talking about CRYP, he said the new CFO would talk down it's financial health as much as possible to set a floor he could work off of. BC made a similar comment regarding recently spun off prop desks.

    Both ring true to me.

  13. How crazy is this. YTD, I have traded $1.3M worth of securities for a profit of .04%.

Futes look strong. Holding .5% across the board.

    The 49ers suck.

    SF Giants look for real.

  15. So the outlines of Basel III are in and the Euro/ES spike. Gaping above the 200. Who knows what tomorrow will bring, but I'm damn glad I'm not 60% short in a 3X. No nightmares for me.

WTF is everyone....ANOTHER party I was left out of ;)
