Figure if ECB raises rates during a market crash like they've been known to do then certainly they aren't going to stimulate when the USFED is cutting off QE. Besides the fact Germany won't allow it.
So, I ripped out the main floor of my house, did a bunch of prep work, got the electrician in and the flooring guy yesterday.
Now the kitchen cabinet company who was supposed to install Friday says, "oh, you are delayed at least a week". Doesn't make sense that they should delay for a week one day ahead and if they needed another week, you think they could have told me a week ago to avoid living in this mess.
So today I am doing a bunch of baseboards so I can at least get my laundry and office put back together. Think I will try and hook up the stove in the garage so can stop eating non-microwave/bbq food.
And like I was telling a buddy of mine, the food cooked fine in the old kitchen. Really doubt it will be better in the new kitchen. But wives don't buy that logic
Hmm, now it seems gold is more in demand than crude oil. Maybe auto manufacturers have topped and are rolling over, since there's no demand for commodities?
Looks like the commencement of the mandatory convertible and share offering that was announcing on the Ferrari IPO hit after hours. Funny how news that is already known gets sold like this but probably just a function of (1) some people not knowing the story well and just selling and (2) people using any excuse to sell. I expect it to run again after it consolidates wherever it is that it wants to consolidate.
FCAU up almost 3% in Italy this morning. Maybe it was just quick sells on the announcement from people who don't understand the story, but now being recognized as another step forwards towards bringing out the value in the company.
Too funny. I feel bad for people that sold last night. People always forget that if dilution is used to pay down debt it's a wash as earnings due to lower int exp go up. Same thing happened at yrcw
Man, Shanghai Stock market on fire. If I was a momentum trader, I'd be taking a hard look at this one. Could go a lot further as have a lot of new demand due to opening up to foreign buyers.
Can someone translate this for me, maybe?

DeleteTLM @ 4.32 in another account. I fully expect to hold this for years or a sale.
ReplyDeletePCAR - Blow off top? Certainly a shutdown of fracking will free up some trucks until further notice?
ReplyDeleteFLY - Dunno for sure but this one could run. Was just thinking of Buffets' NetJet
ReplyDeleteUTIW - You guys see this one moving yesterday?

ReplyDelete"ECB Said to Prepare Broad-Based Quantitative Easing Package for its January Policy Meeting"
ReplyDeleteMaybe that means we go down till then?
DeleteMarkets will react before this. If it starts looking like QE is a go, it will get priced in before then.
DeleteIn fact, the announcement would very well be a sell the news type event.
QE isn't a go, that's the way I understand it.
DeleteThe spin-off guy.

DeleteBB. that is not the experience wives are looking for, your logic is male biased from their point of view.

ReplyDelete$13.23 - Wonder why nobody will hit my bid? I think it's b/c they think they can buy at lower prices tomorrow?

ReplyDeleteI'm actually considering a position in UGAZ that lasts longer than a day. It closed at 8.69.
